Some of Irma Taylor's Background
Irma Taylor, the architect of "Just Another Idea Production Company," realized that she could not devote a full-time career to her creative passions. Jobs had to be worked, children raised, home attended to, bills paid, etc. In the midst of it all, the artist inside craved to come out and donate its contributions to the creative realm.
I knew I didn't have to try and get rich by being an artist, but I did need to feed my God-given imaginative abilities while integrating them into my regular personal life. Along the way, I've acted with the NC Black Repertory Company (1980's- A Day of Absence) under the late Larry Leon Hamlin, performed in an Eve Ensler "Vagina Monologues" production (2006) and (Young Americans) written and directed by Andre Minkins. (2010)
Being a lover of the written word inspired me to spearhead a "Learn to Read" program at the East Winston Branch Library with the blessings of Tim Jackson, write a book review column (According to Irma) 1994, for the AC Phoenix, and have a booklet of poetry published (Bitter Honey) (1999) with N'Joy Publications. Currently, a play(Damaged Woman's Blues) has been born out of my original poetry.
This is what "Just Another Idea Production Company" is all about. We want to serve the everyday artist slumbering inside that person you just passed at the grocery store or who works alongside you at the job. Who, due to family obligations, can't get out a lot but has much to offer the artistic world. Whether it be through painting, writing, directing, or any other creative idea that seeks its freedom. Join us in bringing these desires to fruition from abstract to life.

Everybody keeps speaking of how powerfully written the play was…
Betina Bullard, (B Tina B) (actress/singer)
"DAMAGED WOMAN'S BLUES speaks to both men and women."
Charity Jackson, Ritz Theater
Many theatre-goers expressed the desire for either a re-showing or a Part II of the play. We will definitely make that happen. One fan, Yvonne King, articulated an alternate request. "I want this play to be considered Part II. I want to see another play written that will show why the Damaged Woman is the way she is. That will be Part 1."
Comments After the Show, Just Another Idea Production
Just Another Idea Production Company extends praises to the actors/actresses/singers who brought DAMAGED WOMAN'S BLUES to life. Without them, there would be no play. "I also would like to extend great praise to musician, Monica Douthit, (MonaLisa Musiq) for her robust energy and dedication to arranging the musical composition for the songs performed in 'DAMAGED WOMAN'S BLUES'. Her orchestration is a forceful and moving extension of the play and its songs.

THERE'S AN ALCOHOLIC LIVING IN THE 90'S WHO EMOTIONALLY STOPPED PROGRESSING IN THE 70'S DUE TO LOUSY LIFE EXPERIENCES.
WE SEE A WIFE WHO IS ASTUTELY AWARE OF HER HUSBAND'S INFIDELITIES BUT CHOOSES TO STAY BECAUSE SHE IS THE "WINNER".
AMONG THESE CHARACTERS AND MORE, IS THE "DAMAGED WOMAN" CHARACTER. ILL-EQUIPPED AT SORTING OUT HER OWN SELF-ESTEEM ISSUES, SHE BEHAVES BASED ON WHAT SHE THINKS OTHERS EXPECT OF HER. THE MEDLEY OF CHARACTERS LENDS TO A BLEND OF DRAMA AND COMEDY DURING A NIGHT OUT IN THEIR SMALL TOWN.
DAMAGED WOMAN'S BLUES IS A MIXED BAG OF A STORY WITH CRYPTIC MESSAGES AND MEANINGS BUILT INTO IT. THERE'S THE ARTISTIC "FRIEND" WHO HAS PRETENDED TO SYMPATHETICALLY LISTEN TO ANOTHER'S WOES WHILE SECRETLY USING THE INFORMATION TO WRITE MOVING LYRICS AND SELFISHLY CREATE HER OWN BODY OF WORK.
